Michael graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (political science, specialization: Soviet Union).  He participated in the student exchange program in Leningrad Technological Institute.  Speaks fluent Russian.

Michael has been working in real estate for about 20 years; he worked for Hines and CMI Development.  In 2005 he founded and helmed Storm Properties, holds a 38% stake in the company.

Influence

Last year Storm Properties led by Michael Belton closed two important deals.  In June 2010 the company's top management bought out a 54% stake in Storm Properties from PIK Group and sold it in autumn to a new strategic investor, namily Kirill Pisarev, a co-founder of PIK Group.  "Kirill's 15-year experience in the residential real estate market and profession­alism of the Storm Properties team in commer­cial real estate allows the implementation of exciting large-scale projects and diversifica­tion of the development portfolio," says Mr. Belton commenting on this alliance. "And the amalgamation of financial, project and human resources will further strengthen the positions of Storm Properties in the real estate market."

Another important project for the company was restarting the marketing of the 75,000 sqm К2 Business Park on Kaluzhskoe shosse, where Storm Properties holds a 30% stake and the rest are owned by Marbleton Property Fund. Construction on the first 17,000 sqm phase is scheduled for autumn 2011.

Plans, Forecasts

In the near term Storm Properties will focus on business development and launching new development projects in Moscow andits nearest suburbs, including residential developments, as well as on preparations for going public.  The strategy of entering the stock exchange is being currently developed.

A Personal Touch

"I consider myself a happy man and do not want anything more," says Mr. Belton.  "I have a beautiful wife and three charming daughters."  Michael tries to spend all his spare time with his family.

As an Alaska-born man, Michael is a great fan of ice-hockey. "I have been playing hockey since the age of 3 and I need it.  Not only do I relax in this way; I keep up a good physical shape. Four years ago I played hockey in a tournament "The Challenge Cup" organized by Rosgosstrakh".  I was lucky to play with my favorite sportsmen: Alexander Mogilny and Igor Larionov. It was a great honor for me," shares Michael.

He is trained in karate and has a brown belt. Today his daughters do karate and show great results.
